Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board Women Wing has announced that the Nepal Women Cricket Team will be touring Pakistan to play a friendly series comprising 4 T20 matches against the Pakistan Women Team.

The Nepal Women Team’s tour is inline with PCB’s efforts towards getting International Cricket back to Pakistan. It is hoped that the tour will go a long way in Promoting women’s cricket in Pakistan and will also bestow and portray a softer image of Pakistan to the world.

Pakistanís women cricket team manager, Aisha Asher, believes that the tour of Nepal women team for a friendly series in Pakistan is a good sign for national cricket.

Nepal team will arrive at Lahore on February 9 with the first T20 set to be played on February 11.

“I see the tour of a foreign team to Pakistan as a very healthy sign and I hope that it may pave the way for the return of international cricket,” Aisha Asher told PPI.

She said, “it would also be highly beneficial in preparing for the World Cup qualifiers, to be held in Bangladesh this November.”

She further said that the girls are well prepared for the friendly matches.

“We also want to ascertain how our team plays against an international team. They haven’t played against international teams on their home soil, so that may also be a test for them,” Aisha said.
