Nepal women face second defeat

Kathmandu/Cricnepal: Nepal Womens Cricket Team faced yet another defeat as they lost to Bangladesh by 9 wickets in their second match of the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup being held in Guangzhou, China, on Friday.

After being sent to bat first, Nepal could not build a good target as they were bundled for just 45 runs. Nary Thapa remained not out at 12 runs being the top scorer for the team. While, none of the other bats woman scored a double digit figure. Bangladesh chased the target in just 10.3 overs losing only a wicket.

Rumana Ahmed took two wickets while Jahanara Alam, Panna Gosh, Lata Mandal, Tazia Akhtar and Salma Khatun claimed one wicket each for Bangladesh.

During chase, Sharmin Akhter remained unbeaten at 21 runs. While, Lata Mandal scored 14 before being stumped. Rumana Ahmed remained not out in 5. Karuna Bhandari took the only wicket for Nepal.

Earlier, Nepal had lost to Sri Lanka by 20 runs. Nepal will play its  last group stage match against host China on Monday.
