Nepali Cricketers’ admiration for Virat Kohli…

Nepal played their first-ever ODI match against India on September 4, Monday. In the second group-stage match of Asia Cup 2023, Nepal met the world’s cricketing giant.

Nepal impressed the whole world with a brilliant batting performance in the first inning, where they posted 230 runs. Indian batters were too good for Nepali bowlers as they chased the revised target of 145 runs in 20.1 overs without losing any wickets.

Playing against a cricketing giant – India, was a dream come true moment for Nepalese fans and the Nepalese team itself, which is an emerging team.

The Nepali team was delighted to share the field with Virat Kohli, a player they deeply admired and whom they had grown up idolizing.

The Indian team also visited Nepal’s dressing room after the match and shared some words. Hardik Pandya, Virat Kohli and Rahul Dravid presented medals to Sompal Kami, Aasif Sheikh and Dipendra Singh Airee, respectively. That was on the basis of Nepal’s happy dressing room rituals.

Nepalese players were happy enough to share time with one of the greats of modern-day cricket – Virat Kohli. He shared tips and motivated them to do better. Many players got his autograph. Social media flooded with his picture alongside the Nepali player.
