Nepali Team Edges Past Railway

Nepal 104/9(Paras Khadka 44*, Pradeep Airee 19, Hitesh kadam 3-18) beat Railways 101/9(Preetham Singh 20 S. Vignesh 15 Amrit Bhattarai 2-25) Scorecard

Losing the toss and put into bat first Nepali Batting was once again a one man show-except Paras who made anchoring inning of 44 n.o none of the batsmen crossed 20 runs. Pradeep Airee was the only other batsman who crossed the double digits making 19.

Just like last three matches Nepal once again opened with Sagar Pun and Subash and the pair disappointed once again.Subash was first to fall this time adding just one run. Pun soon joined Subash adding just 6 runs.

The middle order and top order kneeled to the disciplined bowling of Railways. Sharad Vesawkar(6), Gyanendra Malla(1), Binod Bhandari(2) Basanta Regmi(1) and Subash Khakurel(1) and Sagar Pun(6)together made 17 runs in 48 balls. Hitesh Kadam bagged 3 wickets for Railways.

Chasing a small total Railways looked well on course initially as the openers added 35 runs in just 5 overs. Sagar who is in terrific form with the ball provided the first break for Nepal dismissing Preetam Singh for 20. Sagar took two more wickets in 8th and 10th over brining and brought Nepal back into the game. At half way stage Railway were50/3-all three wickets going to Pun. Pun ended the match with impressive figures of Sagar Pun 3-1-09-3.

Railway added 35 runs in the next 8 overs losing 2 more wickets. Railway lost 3 wickets in the first 3 balls of the 19th over. Needing 18 to win from the last over it seemed as if Nepal had sealed the victory however Hitesh Kadam nearly did what Faulkner did for Australia Kadam scored 12 of 6 balls with a six and a four in the last over off Basanta Regmi. In the end Railway fell just 3 run short.
