Nepali Team Wins Four in a Row

Nepali Team 137/9 (Bhandari 42, Gyanendra 31 Kadam 3/19) defeated Railways 132/7 (Hemant 82, Pankaj 25 Amrit 2/26)

Nepali Cricket Team defeated Railways twice in a row this time riding on performances of Binod Bhandari, Gyanendra Malla and a lucky last over from Amrit Bhattarai.

Losing the toss and put into bat first Nepal opened once again with Sagar and Subash but this time they provided a fiery start adding 21 runs in 2 overs. Sagar was first to fall scoring 15 of 9 balls. Subash fell a over after that adding 13 runs.

Paras Khada who has starred with batting for Nepal in Delhi tour made only 5 runs at team’s score of 42 runs. Binod and Gyanendra then added 62 runs off 49 balls for the fourth wicket. Hitesh Kadam broke the partnership in the 16th over getting rid of Gyanendra for 31. Bhandari was next to fall in the 17th over once again to Kadam for 42 of 35 balls.

Nepal was 120/5 in 17.1 overs but after Bhandari fell Nepali team added just 17 runs in the last three overs losing 3 more wickets.

Railways lost first 5 wickets in 9 overs for just 47 runs. Sagar Pun who is in terrific form with the ball wasn’t given the ball in this match.

Hemant Singh and Pankaj Chaudary added 83 runs in just over 10 overs and nearly took Railways to victory. Railways needed 8 runs off the last four balls to win with Hemant and Pankaj still on crease.

Pankaj who made 25 was run out in the third ball of the last over. Hemant who had been batting brilliantly fell the very next ball caught by Gyanendra off Amrit for 82 runs of 64 balls with 6 sixes and 2 fours.

This was the fourth victory in a row for Nepali Team in the Delhi tour.
