Nepali Women Cricket Team to Return Tonight

Kathmandu/Cricnepal: Nepali Senior Women’s Cricket team, who competed in ACC Women’s T20 Asia, being held in  Guangzhou, China will return to Kathmandu tonight at 10 pm local time via The China Southern Airlines. Chief Secretary of CAN Ashok Nath Pyakurel informed the media about the team’s return through a press release.

Nepal played three matches in the Group Stage and with losses in all three could not qualify for the Semi Finals. Nepal was in Group B alongside Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and China in group B. Team Nepal had departed for China on 21st October under captaincy of Rubina Chhetri. The 15 member squad consisted of captain Rubina Chherti , former team captain Nary Thapa, Karuna Bhandari, Indu Verma, Mamata Chaudhary, Sita Rana Magar, Sonu Khadka, Rekha Rawal, Trishna Singh, Sarita Magar, Rashmi Chaulagain, Mamata Thapa, Roshani Bohara, Sobha Ale and Neera Rajopadhyay. The team was managed by Sailesh Kumar Chuadhari and Coached by Samsun Jung Thapa.

Nepal lost to Sri Lanka by 20 runs, Bangladesh by 9 wickets and China by 45 runs. The Final of the ACC cricket tournament will be held on 31st October. India and Pakistan Women team will battle it out for the trophy.
