Nepal’s two different squads announced for Canada and CWC League 2 series

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced two separate squads for their upcoming home series. The different squad will participate in a series against Canada whilst the regular squad will be seen competing in a CWC League 2 series.

Rohit Paudel, the regular skipper, will be at the helm of the 15-man squad. The series against Canada presents an opportunity for new faces and young players, while a robust and established squad will take the field in the subsequent CWC League 2 series.

Nepal is scheduled to engage in a three-match series against Canada on February 8, 10, and 12. Subsequently, the CWC League 2 tri-series featuring Nepal, Netherlands, and Namibia is set to take place from February 15 to 24.

Dipendra Singh Airee, Karan KC, Arjun Saud, and Gulshan Jha, senior members of the team, will be on rest for the Canada Series. In their absence, the U19 team’s pacers Hemant Dhami and Aakash Chand, along with left-arm pacer Rijan Dhakal, receive their first call-up to the senior team. Additionally, Anil Sah, Pawan Sarraf, and Dev Khanal make their return to the squad. Anil Sah was the best batter in the recently concluded Prime Minister Cup whilst Pawan Sarraf also had a decent tournament.

Surya Tamang, Pawan Sarraf and Rijan Dhakal are in both squads. Surya was adjudged Player of the tournament as well as best bowler of the tournament in the PM Cup whereas Rijan Dhakal also made a significant impact.
