Nepal’s winning streak continues, third win against UAE

Kathmandu- Nepal defeated UAE by 68 runs on Sunday to register the third win of the ACC U-19 Womens Championship being held in Kuwait.

Winning the toss Nepal opted to bat first and put up a total of 158 runs in loss of 8 wickets.

Nepal lost its opener Shilu Rijal cheaply as she went with lbw for duck in the first over. Anuradha Chaudhary and Indu Verma then played the big innings for Nepal and had a partnership of 52 runs. Verma was bowled by Aysha Naushadkhan for 32 runs, the top score for the team. Chaudhary scored 8 runs.

Rubina Chhetri was stumped at 13 while Sonu Khadka added a quick 30 runs. Mamta Chaudhary made 10 runs. Pratikhsya Bashyal remained not out at 5 runs.

With four wickets from Rubina and 2 wickets from Sonu, Nepal restricted UAE to 90 for 9 in alloted 25 overs.  Rubina conceded only 15 runs off her 5 over spell.

Sonu was later adjudged as player of the match for her all round performance.

Nepal had defeated China by seven wickets on Friday and Malaysia by 97 runs on Saturday. Nepal will take on Thailand on Sunday.
