New Zealand starts T20 World Cup thrashing Australia

New Zealand

New Zealand has started their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign with a massive win over the host Australia. New Zealand and Australia were the finalists of the previous edition, where The Aussies stunned the Kiwis to clinch the title. The black caps registered their first win against Australia on their home soil since 2009.

Australia were wrapped up for a mere 110 in the 18th over, chasing a target of 201 in the first match of super 12. Every bowler did a superb job restricting the host to a tiny total. Tim Southee and Mitchell Santner grabbed three wickets each, while Trent Boult took two wickets at the tail. Maxwell top scored for the baggy greens with 28, whereas Cummins scored 21.
