NRN UAE to construct indoor facility in Mulpani

Cricnepal/Kathmandu: Non-Resident Nepalis (NRN) UAE in coordination with Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) are constructing an indoor training facility at Mulpani Cricket Ground, CAN and NRN UAE jointly informed organizing a press meet on Saturday.

The facility is expected to be ready before the monsoon. “Our plan is to finish it soon so that our players can practice during the rainy season”, said CAN President Tanka Angbuhang. “We would also like to request all the NRN associations to help us”, Angbuhang added.

The construction cost is estimated at Rs 6.2 million. Nepali officials had approached to NRN UAE during Nepal’s visit to UAE for Trophy Elite which was responded positive by the NRN UAE. The construction will begin soon.

“We had a close look to our cricket when Nepal was in UAE to play some major tournaments. Nepali officials approached us for the financial help to build an indoor facility. We immediately put this to central committee which was approved without any hesitation”, president of NRN UAE Chandra Rokaya said. We are delighted to be working with CAN on constructing an indoor training facility, he added.

While, NRN UAE have requested CAN to inaugurate the facility in October during the NRN General Assembly. The facility however would be available to the players earlier.
