NTV inks three year deal with CAN

Kathmandu – The state-owned Nepal Television has signed a three years broadcast rights with Cricket Association of Nepal for the broadcast of national and international cricket matches to be played in Nepal.

NTV and CAN had inked the broadcast rights agreement on tuesday amidst a function in Kathmandu. As per the agreement, NTV will broadcast all the matches organised by CAN. Similarly, they will be authorised to broadcast ICC, ACC matches.

NTV’s officiating General Manager – Mr. Deepak Mani Dhital and CAN’s Acting President Deepak Koirala signed the agreement. NTV had been broadcasting Nepal’s matches since last 9 years.

However, it was quite surprising to see CAN in some sort of hurry to renew the agreement. They didn’t even plan to invite other parties to bid for the broadcast rights.

The final value of the rights fee agreed has also been disclosed by both parties.
