Paudel bids farewell to Senior Cricketers

Kathmandu – Hon’ble Minister for Youth and Sports – Purusottam Paudel bade a farewell to the Senior Nepalese Cricket Team amid a function held at Ministry Office, Kamalpokhari, Kathmandu today.

Paudel wished best of luck to the team for the upcoming tournament in Malaysia and assured additional awards to the team if it wins it.

“The victory in the tournament will lead us to play Two-Day format.”, Skipper Paras Khadka said.

Nepalese Cricketers are participating in the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC)’s Premier League which is going to held in Malaysia from April 29 to May 8. The team will depart to Malaysia on Tuesday at 12:30 PM NST.

The six top Non-Test Playing Asian Teams- Hong Kong, UAE, Afghanistan, Nepal, Malaysia, Oman will compete in 15 matches over three venues- Bayuemas Oval, Kinrara Oval & Selangor Turf Club.

As Hong Kong, UAE and Afghanistan has ODI status the matches between these teams will be played with ODI status.

May 1- Nepal vs. UAE at Selangor Turf Club
May 2- Nepal vs. Malaysia at Bayuemas Oval
May 4-Nepal vs Oman at Selangor Turf Club
May 5-Nepal vs Hong Kong at Bayeuemas Oval
May 7- Afghanistan vs. Nepal at Kinnara Oval

The tournament will be held under ODI format while the result of the league will be based on ranking of points-table. The top four teams will qualify for the ACC Championship.

The tournament has been formed from the former ACC Trophy Elite Competition.
