Prime Minister’s Cup Cricket: Departmental team Police Club and APF Club win

Nepal Police Club and APF Club have won their matches in the Prime Minister’s Cup ODI Cricket Tournament on Thursday. Police defeated Lumbini Province by 74 runs and APF defeated Gandaki province by six wickets.

Nepal Police club 310/4 (Dhamala 104, Airee 85, Sarraf 50) defeated Lumbini Province 236/7 (Khanal 49, Rajali 40) by 74 runs.

After losing the toss at the Kirtipur-based Tribhuvan Cricket Ground, Police put a mammoth 310 runs, losing four wickets in 50 overs. Chasing a victory target of 311 runs, Lumbini lost seven wickets in 50 overs and managed to score only 236 runs. Sunil Dhamala scored 104 runs for the Police. He hit one six and seven fours in 144 balls.

Similarly, Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 85 runs off 61 balls with the help of six sixes and a four. Amit Shrestha scored 28, Arif Sheikh 29 not out and Pawan Sarraf 50 off 13 balls. Sarraf hit six sixes and a four. Krishna Karki, Anil Kharel, Dipendra Rawat and Saurabh Khanal took one wicket each for Lumbini.

In reply, Dev Khanal scored 49, Sandeep Razali 40, Rajbir Singh 24, Krishna Karki remained unbeaten 40 and Saurabh Khanal 74 for Lumbini. Police’s Rashid Khan and Pawan Sarraf took two wickets each.

Armed Police Force club vs Gandaki Province
APF club 107/4 (Sheikh 78) defeated Gandaki Province 106/10 (Kandel 36) by six wickets.

Similarly, the Armed Police Force club won the second match played at Mulpani Cricket Ground today. Batting first, APF won the toss and elected to field. Gandaki lost all his wickets in 46 overs and scored 106 runs. APF completed the winning target of 107 runs by losing four wickets in 17.3 overs. Asif Sheikh played a half-century innings of 78 runs for APF. Similarly, Sumit Maharjan scored 18 runs.

Chandra Poudel and Vishal Poudel of Gandaki took two wickets each. Earlier, batting first, Samir Kandel scored the highest 36 runs for Gandaki. Similarly, Dinesh Budhamgar scored 12, Bishnu Pandey 15 and Deepesh Khatri 15 runs. Kamal Singh Airy took four wickets while Avinash Bohora and Sharad Bheswakar took two wickets each for APF.
