Kathmandu/Cricnepal: Sudur Pachimanchal Academy is organizing the third edition of “S.P.A. Cup National Inter College Cricket Tournament” from November 23 to December 1, 2012 in Dhangadi, Kailali. This edition will be the highest cash prize cricket tournament in Nepal with winner receiving Rs. 200,000 and runners up bagging Rs. 100,000.
Organizing a press meet on Friday, the organizers informed that 16 different colleges across the country will participate in the knock out based event. Four colleges from Dhangadi, three colleges from Kathmandu and one each from Bara, Janakpur, Jhapa, Pokhara, Butwal, Nepalgunj, Baitadi, Dadeldhura and Kanchanpur will participate in the event.
Each college can allow maximum of four senior national team players in their team.
Hotel Devotee will serve as the prime sponsor of the tournament with the tournament to be named as “THE HOTEL DEVOTEE S.P.A. CUP 2012 while Om Palace, Chaudhary Book Depot Wells Cafe, Raika Tours and Travels, Dakshinkali Brothers, Godavari Flour Mill and Kisan Trading Conern are the co-sponsors of the tournament.
The estimated budget of the event will be Rs. 2 Million. While, the total prize money is allocated as Rs 495,000. Man of the match of each game will receive Rs. 5,000 and Man of the series will be awarded with cash prize of Rs. 50,000. Man of the final will be awarded with Rs. 15,000 while the best batsman, best bowler and the best fielder of the tournament will win Rs. 20,000 each.
The matches will be played in Nepal Police SSP Office Ground.
