Sagar’s magical inning seal win for Bhairahawa

Cricnepal/Kathmandu: APF continued its winning run while Region Number 4 Bhairahawa, Region Number 8 Pokhara and Region Number 6 Baitadi recorded victory in the second day of the Pepsi Standard Chartered National T20 Cricket Tournament.

APF defeated Region Number 2 Birgunj by 5 wickets chasing the target of 113 runs. Man of the match Subash Khakurel scored a 38 ball half century as APF chased the target in 15.1 overs. Paras Khadka remained unbeaten at 20 while Paresh Lohani 13, Sunam Gautam 11 and Basanta Regmi 10 were some other contributos. Kumar Thapa took three wickets and Avinash Karn claimed two for Birgunj. Earlier, batting first Birgunj put total of 112 runs losing six wickets with Shiv Tandukar remaining unbeaten at 32. Amit Shrestha and Hasim Ansari scored 29 and 25 runs respectively. Basanta Regmi grabbed two wickers while Amrit Bhattarai, Sunam Gautam, Shakti Gauchan and Rom Shrestha took a wicket each.

In another match, Bhairahawa won by 12 runs against Region Number 3 Kathmandu. Batting first, Bhairahawa put 159 runs losing seven wickets. Sagar Pun played a great inning scoring 50 runs off 35 balls with eight boundaries and a four. Krishna Katki put 33 runs while Fajlur Rahman Khan 26 and Subash Pradhan 29 assisted in Bhairahawa’s score. Bijay Gautam took two wickets while Prakash Bista, Niraj Basnet, Prashanna Shakya and Niraj Bhattarai claimed one each. Fighting for the target, Kathmandu managed to score only 147 runs losing eight wickets. Pramod Basnet top scored 39 runs, Indra Kamal Manandhar added 31 while Bijay Gautam, Keshav Raj Pant and Niraj Bhattarai added 18, 16 ad 14 runs respectively. Sagar Pun took five wickets conceding only 16 runs. Lala Bahadur Adhikari finished up with 2-18.

In another matches of the day, Baitadi 195/5 defeated Region Number 7 Janakpur 108/10 by 87 runs with Binod Bhandari scoring 82 off 46. While, Pokhara 150/7 defeated Region Number 5 Nepalgunj 104/8 by 46 runs with a captain innings of 51 runs from Deepesh Khatri.

On Tuesday, APF Club faces Region No.1 Biratnagar while Birgunj will take on Kathmandu.
