Sandeep Sunar & Raju Rizal among runs as Nepal U19 win practice game

New Delhi/Cricnepal – Half century from opener Sandeep Sunar helped Nepal U19 to win its first practice game against Vijay Dahiya Cricket Club by 6 wickets played at St. Stephen’s Cricket ground in East Delhi on Tuesday.

Nepal U19 won the toss and elected to field first. Nepalese bowlers restricted Vijay Dahiya Cricket Club to 170 runs in 47.4 overs. Skipper Raju Rijal used eight different bowlers and it paid off. Dipesh Shrestha, Prem Tamang and Dipendra Airee grabbed two wickets each while Sushil Kandel, Sandeep Lamichhane and Kushal Bhurtel shared wicket apiece. Aarif Sheikh and Sunil Dhamala went wicketless.

Vivek Rana was the highest scorer for Vijay Dahiya Cricket Club as he scored 45 runs in 78 balls with 3 fours and a six. Amit Poonia and Priyanshu Vijayran contributed 22 and 20 runs respectively.

Opener Sandeep Sunar and Sunil Dhamala (14) started the chase for Nepal U19. Sunar was in great nick and smashed 9 boundaries to score a quick 54 run in 62 balls. He was well supported by the skipper Raju Rizal, who scored 45 runs at the other end. Shankar Rana (17) also contributed during the chase.

The unbeaten partnership between Aarif Sheikh (16*) and Rajbir Singh (7*) for the fifth wicket to take Nepal U19 home in just 27.2 overs. For Vijay Dahiya Cricket Club, Himank, Ajay Ahlawat, Amrit Pal Singh and Avinash Thapa took one wicket each.

Vijay Dahiya Cricket club used Priyanshu Vijayran (T20 Ranji player – Delhi), Vivek Rana (U19 and U23 State player of Delhi), Amrit Pal Singh (State Player of Delhi) and Ajay Ahlawat (U19 State Player of Delhi) in their squad today.
