Collingwood will play a full part in both the preparation and competition phases of Qualification games for ICC World T20 Qualifier and ODI world Cup Qualifier.

Scotland first revealed about  hiring Collingwood in end of September.

‘‘I am very excited at the prospect of working with the Scotland squad over the coming months and look forward to helping the team qualify for both the T20 World Cup and the 2015 Cricket World Cup’’,  said Collingwood about his appointment

The Scotland team will leave for Sri Lanka on 27 October for a preparation camp before the World T20 qualifier start, with the squad arriving in Dubai on November 9th, before the first group game against Bermuda on November 15th. Scotland will face Nepal in the Group B match on 18th November.

Collingwood, fresh from captaining Durham to the County Championship title, will work alongside the existing coaching team of Head Coach Peter Steindl and fielding coach/performance analyst Toby Bailey. In addition to Collingwood, Craig Wright, the current under-19 coach and former Scotland captain, will also form part of the new coaching team as bowling coach.
