Sheikh, Dhami help Nepal U19 to crushing win against Malaysia

Nepal U19 thrashed the host team by 8 wickets to register their second win of the tournament on Monday at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysia U19 were bundled out for just 75 runs under 38 overs after winning the toss. Outstanding bowling effort from Aarif Sheikh (10-3-18-4), Diwash Shrestha (9-4-28-2), Sushil Kandel (10-6-8-1) and Dipendra Singh Airee (4-1-11-2) helped the visitor to pack up the host in low score. Pavandeep Singh was the highest scorer for the host with 17 runs in 72 balls. Shankar Sattish and the extras were the joint second highest scorer with 13 runs. Rest of the batsmen were clueless against the bowling attack.

Nepalese batters just took 14.4 overs to chase the target with losing two wickets. Opener Ashish Dhami and Rajbir Singh were among the run getter to secure an emphatic win today despite losing the other opener Sunil Dhamala(3) early in the inning. Dhami smashed 7 boundaries in his unbeaten 38 runs off 40 balls while Singh scored 33 with 5 boundaries. Aarif Sheikh was adjudged Man of the Match.

With this win, Nepal stays at the No.2 position in Points table with 4 points. Afghanistan are at the top with 3 out of 3 wins. Meanwhile, Nepal will play Kuwait U19 on Tuesday at Kinrara Academy Oval.
