Srilankan Dhammika Prasad joins Bhairahawa Gladiators

Sri Lanka right-arm pacer Dhammika Prasad is set to join Bhairahawa Gladiators for the fourth edition of the Everest Premier League.

Earlier, Bhairahawa Gladiators announced the inclusion of Upul Tharanga alongside Dinesh Chandimal.

In February 2021, Dhammika, 38, retired from international cricket after appearing on 25 Tests and 24 ODIs and a solitary T20I taking a total of 107 wickets since making his international debut in an ODI against Bangladesh in 2006.

He has played 21 T20 matches and grabbed 19 wickets.

Former Nepali cricket coach Pubudu Dassanayake will be the coach of the team. With Sharad Vesawkar as the captain, Aarif Sheikh, Rohit Kumar Poudel, Abhinash Bohara, and Kushal Malla are the young star players of the current Nepali team playing for the Bhairahawa Gladiators. Similarly, Pradeep Airee, Bhuvan Karki, Krishna Karki, Anil Kharel, Harishankar Shah, Deepesh Shrestha, Vikas Agri, Durgesh Thapa, and Himanshu Dutta are other domestic players in the team.

Everest Premier League is set to be played from September 25 to October 9 at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kathmandu.
