Sudurpaschim thrash Bagmati in the Eliminator of Women’s PM Cup

Sudurpaschim Province women have registered a comfortable win against Bagmati Province women in the Eliminator match of the Women’s PM Cup National Tournament. They bagged a comfortable nine-wicket win at TU Cricket Ground.

Sudurpaschim will now play against Koshi Province women in the Qualifier 2 match on Monday. Meanwhile, Bagmati crashed out of the tournament after facing a defeat in the must-win match.

Following a target of 100 runs, Sudurpaschim easily completed the chase in 14.3 overs losing just one wicket. Bindu Rawal was the star of the chase scoring a half-century. Bindu scored the winning runs and remained unbeaten for 54 from 49 balls. Rubi Poddar contributed 18 runs whereas Samjhana Khadka notched up an unbeaten 16-ball 21.

Manisha Upadhayay took the only wicket for Bagmati. None of the Bagmati bowlers had an economy of less than 6.00.

Earlier in the first inning, Bagmati were wrapped up for 99 runs in 19 overs after opting to bat first. They had a quick start but also lost the wickets at regular intervals. They were 47/2 at one stage but were down to 57/5 in a blink of an eye.

Kanchan Shrestha top scored with 36 runs from 46 balls. Sony Pakhrin notched up 14 whereas Khusi Dangol and Helisha Gurun made ten runs each. Three batters were dismissed for a duck.

For Sudurpaschim, Karshima Thapa was a pick of a bowler grabbing three wickets (4-0-32-3). Spinners Ritu Kanoujiya and Laxmi Saud produced an economical spell and also grabbed two wickets each.
