Suryodaya, Paragon victorious

Suryodaya Secondary School from Region No 1 (Biratnagar) and Paragon Boarding School from Region No 7 (Janakpur) registered wins on Tuesday in the Wai Wai Inter-school U-16 T20 National Women’s Cricket Tournament being held in Janakpur. In the first match of group ‘A’ Suryodaya defeated Srijana Secondary School from Region No 8 (Pokhara) by seven wickets. Winning the toss, Srijana opted to bat first and packed for 40 runs in 15.4 overs. Chasing the low target, Suryodaya garnered 41 runs losing only three wickets in 6.1 overs.

Sushma Puri of Suryodaya scored 10 runs and grabbed four wickets. She was later declared the player-of-the-match for her feat. In another match, Paragon registered a mammoth 64 runs victory over Padhmodaya Public Model Higher Secondary School from Region No 5 (Nepalgunj). Shanti Chaudhary and Saraswati Chaudhary starred for Paragon. Shanti and Saraswati remained unbeaten for 49 runs and 33 runs respectively to post huge target of 146 runs losing only four wickets. Anu Chaudhary’s three wickets and tight bowling from Paragon helped to restrict Padhmodaya in just 81 runs. Shanti Chaudhary was later declared player-of-the-match.
