Team Blue victorious once again

Kathmandu/Cricnepal: The Blue team lead by Prithu Baskota was once again able to defeat the Red team guided by new skipper Krishna Karki in the 3rd practice match of the U-19 squad (going for Asia cup) organized by CAN here on Wednesday at TU ground, Kirtipur by 55 runs.

After winning the toss team Blue decided to bat first and they ended up with the score of 251 with loss of 8 wickets. Like always, the top order batsman were able to make good score. Pradeep Airee played a good innings of 37 with 3 fours and 1 six runs while Subash Khakurel contributed 21 runs for the team. Naresh Budhayer had 27 runs in his account. The skipper Prithu guided the team well with his 70 runs including 2 fours and 3 sixes . With the same number of fours and sixes Fajlur Reheman scored 51 runs and remained not out till last. Rupesh Shrivastav who played well in earlier match just scored 7 runs.

Bhuwan Karki completly handelled the bowling of the guys in red with his off break. He took 3 wickets for 34 runs. Pacer Krishna Karki took 2 important wickets giving away 51 runs. Rahul vishwakarma took 2 wickets of blue. While, Gopal Singh satisfied with a single wicket. Avinash Karna was injured during the play and hence had to rest.

For the Red team, Bijay Ghalan scored 81 runs with 8 fours. Subendu Pandey made 14 runs. Wicket-keeper Shiva Kumar Tandukar was able to make 19 runs with 2 fours and 1 six. Surendra Chand and Rahul B.K respectively contributed 13 and 24 runs . No other batsmen were able to make doule figure score.

Bowling of the Blue team was totally dependent on Nischal Pandey as he took 4 wickets of the Red giving away 30 runs only. Hasim , Prithu, Sagar, Naresh and Sushil Kandel had 1 wicket registered in each account. Hence, the Red team was all out for 196 in 49.5 overs and the Blue team made the third win on the Red team by 55 runs.
