Tip Top, Naxal into semis

KATHMANDU, January 2:
Tip Top XI and Naxal Challengers on Monday booked their places in the semifinals of the Shree Riddhi Siddhi Marwadi Champions League. Tip Top XI beat Ebisu Real Hitters by seven wickets while Naxal Challengers defeated Belmonte Fighters by seven wickets. In the first match, Ebisu Real Hitters won the toss and scored 82 runs losing all the wickets in the match reduced by five overs.

Gopal Agrawal was the highest scorer with 31 runs off 36 balls. Required to reach a revised target of 52 runs in nine overs due to rain, Tip Top XI accomplished the task in just 5.4 overs losing three wickets. Manish Chaudhary scored 20 runs off 16 balls while Aashish Chaudhary was not out on 18 runs off eight balls. In the second quarterfinal, Belmonte Fighters batted first and scored 116 runs losing five wickets in 16 overs.

Mohammed Shahid Khan scored 45 runs off 30 balls. Parth Upadhyay grabbed two wickets for Naxal Challengers. With 57 runs from Prasanna Shakya, Naxal Challengers then reached the target in just 10.3 overs losing three wickets.
