Triton and KEC Enter Semis

Kantipur Engineering College and Trition joined Nepal Engineering College and Kathmandu University in the semi final of First Inter University T20 Cricket  Tournament after winning their Quater Final match played today at Dhulikhel. The tournament is jointly organised by Kathmandu University and University Sports Association Nepal.

KEC vs. NAIHS

Kantipur Engineeing Collage(KEC) defeated Nepalese Army Institute of Health Science(NAIHS) by 5 wickets. Winning the toss and batting first NAIHS were put up 108 runs losing all their wickets in 18.4 overs. Bishal Khadka top scored with 28(33) for NAIHS. Akash Khatri made 16 while Uday Shrestha contributed with 13.

For KEC Ravi Timalsina and Saroj Ghimire picked up two wickets each.Riding on man of the match Nirmal Pandit’s 50*(33) KEC chased the target with ease in the 18th over losing five wickets and reached the semifinals. Amrit Neupane bagged two wickets for NAIHS while Uday chipped in with one.

Triton vs. Himalayan White House

In another match of the day,Triton International College reached the semifinal by defeating Himalayan White House Collage(HWHC) by 57 runs. Winning the toss and batting first Triton piled a huge total of 202/3 run in 20 overs. Abhaya poudel(2-53) was the pick of bowlers for HWHC. Chasing the target HWHC were packet for 145 runs in 18.3 overs. Indra Kamal who also played for Region number 3 Kathmandu in the National Tournament held last year picked 5-24for Triton.  Prakash Bista also bagged 2 wickets for Triton.

Suman Udaya who scored 92 not out for Triton was declared man of the match while Sanjaya Shrestha 40(34) and Prabin Joshi 29(19) also made notable contributers to Trition’s score.

Bibek Basnet 27(18), Abhay Poudel 26(28), Krishna Mainali 23(10) helped White House to post a respectable score.
