Tucker To Lead Bermuda in The Qualifiers

Bermuda Cricket Board Announced Squad of 15 players lead by Janerio Tucker for ICC World T20 Qualifiers. Tucker who was the Most Valueable Player of ICC Regional Tournament was named the captain after Stephen Outerbridge pulled off from the Qualifiers due to personal commitments.

“It is an honour to have the opportunity to lead the Bermuda team at the World Cup Qualifier next month.I am confident that the group of players that we have will gel together well and represent Bermuda with passion and pride. It will be a dream come true if I can replicate the success of July 2005 when we qualified in the 50 over format of the game.” said Tucker after his appointment.

“I am confident that this team will give 100% effort and commitment to being the best that they can be. I am especially heartened by the passion that I witness from players and coaching staff and the professionalism of their approach, I expect that this “national pride” will be an asset in a very difficult competition ” expressed BCB president Lloyd Fray

“Many of us remember one of Bermuda’s proudest moments in July 2005 when Bermuda qualified for the 2007 Cricket World Cup. I hope that we all remember that is was Janeiro Tucker who was captain at that time, he had taken over the reins when Clay Smith was injured in an early match, and he lead our country to qualification.” remembered BCB president. “I hope that proves to be a lucky omen for our country in next month’s tournament.” he added.

Bermuda will travel to Florida toady to compete in 3 match series against USA as preparation of Qualifiers.
