U-16 National Cricket Tournament from Friday

Kathmandu/Cricnepal: Cricket Association of Nepal(CAN) on Friday released the fixtures of the U-16 National Cricket Tournament that starts on capital from Friday.

Eight regions will participate in a 7 day event. The event is also the selection tournament for the ACC U-16 Elite Cup that is scheduled for 2nd May to 13th May in Malaysia.

Two matches will be played in a day, one at Tribhuwan University Ground, Kirtipur while the otehr at Pulchowk Engineering College Ground. A member committee of 8 under the leadership of Kiran Rana has been formed, stated the issues press release from CAN.

In the opening day of the tournament, which will be inaugurated by the member secretary at Nepal Sports Council Yubaraj Lama, Kathmandu will take on Baitadi in TU Ground while in the Engineering Ground, Bhairahawa will face Biratnagar.

Two pools with four regions in each pool has been formed. In pool A, Region Number 2 Birgunj, Region Number 3 Kathmandu, Region Number 6 Baitadi and Region Number 7 Janakpur will play while the pool B consist of Region Number 4 Bhairahawa, Region Number 5 Bepalgunj, Region Number 1 Biratnagar and Region Number 8 PokharA;

Winner from each pool will play the final.
