U-19 face defeat in a low chase

Kathmandu/Cricnepal: Nepal APF Club led by Dipendra Chand once again defeated the U-19 team which is preparing for the ACC U-19 Asia Cup to be held in Malaysia by 25 runs in the friendly match played at Tribhuwan University Ground, Kirtipur here on Sunday.

The toss was won by APF and they decided to bat first. But, APF could not make good score. They were all out for just 130 runs in 41.4 overs. Basanta Regmi contribued the highest 38 runs for APF. Meanwhile, Sunam Gautam and Pawan Shrestha both managed 16 runs. The skipper contributed 10 runs whereas Sharad Veswakar was limited in 10 runs only. No other batsmen of APF were able to make double figure score.

The U-19 team bowled well. The bowlers were able to neutralize the long hitter of APF like Sharad Veswakar and Sunam Gautam. Till last they built pressure on APF batsman. Krishna Karki and Sagar Pun both were able to take 3 wickets giving away 18 and 22 runs respectively. Spinenr Rahul Vishwakarma was able to take 2 wickets . Skipper Prithu had just a wicket registered in his account. Rajesh Pulami showed his excellent performance in the feild, he took 3 catches.

Like always, the batting of the Under 19 team could not be good as it should be. The openers of U-19, Pradeep Airee and Subash Khakurel could not make good base for the team. Till 6 men down no batsman was able to make double figure score. But after that Hasim Ansari played excellently and made 36 runs for the team. Likewise, Bhuwan Karki also made 26 runs.

Shakti Gauchan and Basant Regmi the new guys for APF in the friendly match were able to take 2 wickets each giving away 12 and 27 runs respectively. Sanjjam Regmi too was able to take 2 wickets giving away 22 runs. Raju Basnyat managed a wicket.
