Cricnepal-Cricket Association of Nepal(CAN) has postponed the start of National U-19 Tournament by a day owning to heavy showers in Kathamndu. Tomorrow’s fixture between Dhangadi and Birgunj at Army Cricket Ground has been shifted to Ashoj 2 and that between Baitadi and Biratnagar at Pulchowk Engineering Ground has been shifted to Ashoj 5.
The nine team event as usual will feature U-19 squad of the 9 cricket regions. The teams are divided into 2 pools of 5 and 4. Two teams from each side will enter the semis.
CAN also revealed that the winner of the tournament would bag Rs. 25,000 and the runner up would take away Rs.15,000. The team that win the fair play award will also take away Rs.5000.
The player of the tournament will be awarded Rs.10,000 and similarly the best bowler, batsman and player of the final will take away Rs, 5000 each.
CAN also informed that the title sponsor Wai Wai has provided 18 of 23 lakh budget for the tournament.
