UAE books a place in the final of ACC Premier Cup

United Arab Emirates (UAE) has booked a place in the final of the ACC Premier Cup. They were victorious by two runs in the DLS method at Mulpani Cricket Ground. Nepal and UAE will battle for a spot in the Asia Cup on Monday at Tu Cricket Ground.

Chasing a target of 237 runs, Oman were 190/6 in 43 overs while rain halted the match. They were in a comfortable position of 181/3 in the 42nd over but went on to lose three quick wickets. Openers Kashyap Prajapati (49) and Jatinder Singh (42) added 79 for the first wicket. Skipper Zeeshan Maqsood also added 40 runs.

For UAE, Karthik Meiyappan picked up three wickets. Basil Hameed dismissed two batters in the dying minutes to bring UAE back into the contest.

Earlier, UAE had a brilliant start adding 61/0 after the powerplay, thanks to a quick start from Muhammad Waseem. He scored 31-ball 48 with four sixes and fours each. Other batters could do any special for UAE, as they managed only a fighting total.

Rameez Shahzad scored 46, whereas Basil Hameed and Asif Khan added 34 runs each as UAE posted 236 runs before being bowled out in 49.2 overs.

Zeeshan Maqsood and Bilal Khan picked up four wickets each for Oman. Ayaan Khan also dismissed two batters.

This is the first ODI match at Mulpani Cricket Ground. The venue became the 216th Ground to host the ODI match.
