UCMS, BPKIHS reach Semis

B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences(BPKIHS) defeated Kathmandu Medical College(KMC) by 7 wickets to register their second win in as many matches to advance to the semi finals of 2nd KIST Cup being played at Army School Cricket Ground, Sallaghari, Bhaktapur. Winning the toss and batting first KMC scored 99 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Pramod Man Singh of BPKIHS returned with figures 5 wickets for 11 runs to restrict KMC below 100.

In reply BPKIHS reached the target in 12.1 overs losing only 3 wickets. Opener Subhash Chandra top scored for BPKIHS with 34 from only 24 balls. Navaneet Bichha and Bibek Jha added 44 runs for the fourth wicket in only 26 balls to take the side from Dharan past the target.

UCMS who also have 2 wins in their belt after 3 league matches also advanced to the semis from Pool B. IOM qualified to semis from Pool A winning all three of their matches. The last semi final spot will be decided by tomorrows match between Nepal Medical College(NMC) and KIST Medical College-Yellow Team.

In the other match scheduled today NMC were declared winners as Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences forfeited the match.
