USA script historic series win over Bangladesh

The USA cricket team scripted history at the Prairie View Cricket Complex in Dallas, Texas on Thursday as it beat a full-strength Bangladesh squad by six runs to secure an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

The hosts clinched a series victory against a Test-playing nation for the first time in their history.

Score Summary: USA 144/6 (20 overs), Monank Patel 42 (38), Aaron Jones 35 (34); Rishad Hossain 2/21 (4), Tanzim Hasan Shakib 2/23 (4) defeated Bangladesh 138/10 (19.3 overs), Shanto 36 (34), Shakib al Hasan: 30 (23); Ali Khan 3/25 (3.3), Saurabh Netravalkar 2/15 (3) by 6 runs.

Bangladesh were bundled for 138 runs in 19.3 overs as they fell short of a 145-run target in the second T20I. Ali Khan was the star of the show as he picked up three wickets, including that of Shakib Al Hasan.

The win comes as a huge boost to the USA national team ahead of the T20 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the USA and the West Indies from June 1.
