White House‚ SANN reach quarters

KATHMANDU:
Himalayan White House International College and Study of Ancient and New Nepal (SANN) International College booked the quarter-final berths of the Martyrs Dil Bahadur Ramtel Running Cup Cricket Tournament here at the TU Stadium today.

Pranap Khadka scored a fluent half-century as White House thrashed College of Applied Food and Dairy Technology (CAFODAT) by nine wickets. Put into bat first after White House won the toss, CAFODAT scored 123-7 in their allotted 20 overs before White House overcame the total in 17 overs losing one wicket.

Anil Pathak smashed 39 off just 23 balls with four fours and a six. Prashant Pradhan picked up three wickets for White House. In reply, man-of-the-match, Pranap scored 54-ball 57 that included eight fours to steer White House to win.

In another match, SANN defeated Himalayan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (HICAST) by 23 runs. Put into bat first, SANN scored 108-9 and bowled out HICAST for 85 in 18.2 overs. Dipendra Gairi top scored for SANN with 27-ball 37.

Man-of-the-match Milan Mahat took 5-20 but their batsmen later failed to cash in on the fine bowling display. Ramesh Sigdel, Shiva Sagar Bhandari and Bharat Tiwary snared two wickets apiece for the winners.
