Women’s National Cricket Team leaves for China

The senior women’s national cricket team on Sunday left to Guangzhou, China to participate in the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup that is scheduled to begin from October 25.

Member secretary of National Sports Council, Yuvaraj Lama and other officials of CAN bode farewell to the team organizing a function in capital on Sunday.

Coach Shyamson Jung Thapa was confident that the players would perform their best and approach for a win in every game. Its a big tournament, so we will play responsibly and keep up the fight, he added.

Captain Rubina Chhetri, addressing the function expressed that the team would give their cent percent effort and put up a good show against the other teams. Chhetri also shared the best wishes of Dashain to all the people on behalf of all the players.

Nepal is placed in group B with China, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh while India, Pakistan, Hong Kong and Thailand are the other teams in group A.

Nepal will play against Sri Lanka on 25th before playing Bangladesh on 26th. Nepal will wrap up their group stage with a match against the host China on 29th. The semi finals will be played on 30th and the finals on 31st.
