The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has unveiled the schedule for Nepal’s tri-series against Scotland and Namibia under ICC CWC League Two. This is the last series between these three nations, as they have already played a series in Scotland and Namibia.

The series gets underway with Nepal facing Namibia on 14th February. On 17th February, Nepal will battle against Scotland, followed by Namibia on the next day. The series will be concluded on 21st February after the match between Nepal and Scotland. Namibia and Scotland will face each other on the 15th and 20th. Having 18 points from 24 matches, Nepal needs to finish in the top five to save their ODI status, and they will probably need nine wins from the remaining 12 fixtures. Nepal’s next series is also on home soil against PNG and UAE. Meanwhile, Nepal will tour PNG for their last series.

Scotland are at the top of the table and are few steps away from being the champions after bagging 46 points with four matches to play. Oman completing their fixtures have 44 points, followed by Namibia with 37 points from 30 matches. The USA are in the fourth spot with 35 points. UAE are one step ahead of Nepal with 27 points (26 matches) while PNG are at the bottom with just five points (28 matches).

The big question will be Sandeep Lamichhane’s inclusion in the team as he was released on bail by the High Court Patan on 12th January. Moreover, The Job of Nepal’s coach is also vacant after Manoj Prabhakar’s resignation.
