Nepal post the highest ODI total against Oman

Nepal’s national cricket team has set a new record for their highest-ever ODI total. The home side surpassed the previous best of 297 and posted 310 runs against Oman in their second match of the ACC Men’s Premier Cup 2023.

This is also the first instance Nepal has crossed the 300-run mark in ODI. Forced to bat first at TU Cricket Ground, Nepal were in deep trouble early on, losing both openers for a duck and conceding fourth consecutive maiden over. Sooner, They were down to 72/4 in 21st over.

Kushal Malla then counterattacked Oman bowlers and scored a magnificent century. Completing his maiden ODI ton from 59 balls, Malla smacked nine fours and ten sixes. He was eventually sent back for 64-ball 108 runs.

Sompal Kami also scored his second ODI fifty to take his side to a better position. He scored 48-ball 63 with nine fours. Karan KC at the end, smacked electrifying 29 runs as Nepal finished 310/8 after the 50 overs. Bhim Sharki and Aarif Sheikh also assisted 33 and 29 runs for the team.

For Oman, Ayan Khan picked up two wickets, whereas every other used bowler grabbed one each.
