Sandeep Lamichhane joins Hobart Hurricanes

Sandeep Lamichhane has responded to rape charges via his social media to call all the allegations against him baseless.

Currently, Lamichhane is in the West Indies to play in the Caribbean Premier League. He has claimed his innocence and sought help from the Cricket Association of Nepal(CAN) to fight the sexual assault charge.

“I am innocent. I’ve decided to take a leave from CPL and go back to my country within a few days. I am ready to face all these baseless allegations. Hope the law acts equal to everyone”, he said in his Facebook post on September 9.

The Cricket Association of Nepal’s executive committee also decided to suspend the leggie, two days after the complaint against him.

Kathmandu District Court has already issued an arrest warrant against him. Now the Police have the legal authority to arrest him.

Twenty-two-year-old Lamichhane, who has had a meteoric rise to stardom is one of the most recognized Nepali cricketers internationally in the history of Nepal cricket. His image has taken a big hit and already tarnished his reputation and threatened to end his career.
