An exciting friendly cricket tournament is set to be played in the inaugural ceremony of the Extratech Oval Cricket Ground in Tilottoma, Rupandehi. Nepal’s cricketing legends will participate in a thrilling match during the event.
The competition will feature four teams – the squad from 1996 that participated in Nepal’s first international match, the Rupandehi Legends, the team from the 2014 T20 World Cup, and the Rest of Nepal.
Nepal’s biggest cricketing icon Paras Khadka is likely to captain 2014’s team whilst other icons like L.B Chhetri, Kalam Ali, and Hari Bahadur Thapa are also likely to come to the field.
The laying of the foundation stone for Extratech Oval took place in June 2023, and within a mere eight months, the ground is poised to be inaugurated on February 26. Former cricketer and field ambassador of the ground, Shakti Gauchan mentioned that the construction has been progressing through various stages and is expected to be ready for play very soon.
