Galaxy,Nightangle through to Semis

Galaxy Public School and Nightangle School made it to the semi-final of the 7th COAS Inter School Running Cricket Tournament defeating Mount Everest School and AVM School in the quaterfinals respectively.

In the first match played  at Army Ground,Bhaktapur, Nightangle thrashed AVM by six wickets thanks to a five wicket haul from Man of the Match Biraj Tandukar. Bowiling first, Nightangle restricted AVM for 59 runs and then chased the target with seven overs to spare. Rahul Purvey scored the highest score for AVM with 14 runs while his opening partner Buddha Majhi contributed 13 runs whereas other batsman couldn’t reach double figure. Apart from Biraj ,Bipin Acharya grabbed 3 wickets for Nightangle.

In another match, Galaxy stunned Mount Everest by 10 wickets to reach the semis. Captain Adil Khan bagged four wickets for mere 9 runs as Mount Everest were stumbled out for 63 runs. None of the batsman reached double figure for Mount Everest as 30 runs were given as extras by Galaxy. Galaxy,then chased the target with ease with Vinit Bafna scoring a quickfire 34 runs off 30 balls in 10.3 overs. Adil was adjudged Match of the Match for his four wickets.

Host Sainik Awashiya Madhyamik Vidhyalaya(SAMV) and Nepal Police School have already qualified for the Semi-finals. The semi-final matches will be held on 20th Falgun at the Army Ground,Bhaktapur with SAMV taking Nepal Police on the first match and Galaxy contesting against Nightangle in the 2nd match.
