Nepal continues dominance in Tri-Series with six-wicket victory over Hong Kong

The Nepalese Cricket team has secured a back-to-back win in the ongoing T20I Triangular Series between Nepal, UAE and Hong Kong. After a seven-wicket win against UAE on the opening day, Nepal registered a six-wicket victory against Hong Kong on Thursday.

Opting to bowl first at Mulpani Cricket Ground, Nepal bundled out Hong Kong for a mere 94 runs in 19.3 overs.

Karan KC started brilliantly dismissing Nizakat Khan in the very first ball of the inning and  Anshuman Rath in the following over. Sompal bowled Martin Coetzee before Karan KC sent back dangerous batter Babar Hayat as Hong Kong were 14/4 in the fifth over.

The visiting team couldn’t recover from the disaster and were bowled out for a mere total. Yasim Murtaza showed some fight with a run a ball 36 while Zeeshan Ali scored 17 runs from 20 balls.

For Nepal, Karan KC picked up four wickets. Sompal Kami and Abinash Bohara claimed two wickets each. Bohara pocketed 50 wickets in his T20I career whilst Shyam Dhakal claimed his maiden T20I wicket.

In response, Nepal chased the target in 13.5 overs losing four wickets. Aasif Sheikh scored the highest 42-run knock in the chase. Rohit Paudel ended things with a six and remained unbeaten for 25 runs. Gulshan Jha also scored not out five-ball 14 with two biggies.

Ehsan Khan troubled Nepali batters with his spin and ended up with a figure of 4-0-10-3.

Nepal will now play against Hong Kong itself on Saturday in the third match of the series.
