Nepal U19 cricket team heads to Malaysia eyeing U19 Asia Cup Qualification

Nepal national U19 cricket team are off to Malaysia for the first-ever ACC U19 Premier Cup. The tournament set to be played for the first time serves as the qualification tournament for the U19 Asia Cup.

On Monday, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) bid farewell to the youth team organizing one program.

The tournament will be played in Malaysia from the 12th of October to the 24th of October. Sixteen teams will battle for the three spots remaining in the U19 Asia Cup 2023.

Nepal is placed in Group A alongside Iran, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Nepal’s opening match is scheduled against Iran on October 12, followed by encounters with Bahrain and Saudi Arabia on October 15 and 19, respectively.

UAE, Oman, Qatar and China are placed in Group B. Singapore, Thailand, Kuwait, and Maldives are in Group C whereas Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia and Japan are in Group D.

Group toppers from each group will qualify for the semifinal and the top three teams will book a place in the coming Youth Asia Cup in Pakistan.
