Nepal women clinch back-to-back win in Quadrangular T20I Series

The Nepalese women’s cricket team has registered a back-to-back win in the Quadrangular T20I Series. Nepal, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Kuwait are playing a T20I Quadrangular series in Malaysia ahead of the Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier.

The Nepalese team, who bagged a six-wicket win against Hong Kong on Tuesday, booked an easy 34-run win against Kuwait. Invited to bat first, Nepal managed only 89/8 on the board after 20 overs. Indu Barma top-scored with 19-ball 23. Coming at no.9, Kajal Shrestha scored 19 runs from 18 balls. Bindu Rawal contributed 20 runs from 45 balls.

Mariamma Hyder was the pick of a bowler for Kuwait, grabbing four wickets. Marya Omar also grabbed a couple of wickets.

Indu Barma was adjudged player of the match for her all-round performance.

In response, Kuwait women were restricted to 55/8 at the end of 20 overs. Only Zeefa Jilani (11) and Khadija Khalil (10) could score a double-digit figure.

Indu Barma, who top-scored in the first inning, was the pick of a bowler as well. She grabbed three wickets. Khusi Dangol picked up two wickets, whilst Kabita Kunwar, Sita Rana Magar, and Ishwori Bist pocketed one wicket each.

Hong Kong thrashed Malaysia by ten wickets in the other contest. They chased a target of 42 (revised target) in nine overs in a rain halted clash.

Nepal will face Malaysia in the final group-stage match.
