Nepal’s veteran cricketer Jyoti Pandey announces her retirement

Nepal’s national women’s cricket player, Jyoti Pandey, has officially announced her retirement. Serving as both a wicketkeeper and opening batter, Jyoti has decided to step away from both international and domestic matches.

Jyoti’s announcement came after her side APF women defeated Koshi to clinch the title of Women’s PM Cup 2080. In a show of respect, Jyoti’s teammates from APF accorded her a guard of honour after the match. Jyoti has been a regular member of team APF for more than a decade.

Having made her debut for Nepal in 2016, Jyoti has played 17 WT20I matches, accumulating a total of 210 runs. Her most recent appearance for Nepal was against Malaysia women on June 4, 2023.
