Rubina Chhetri shine with the bat in FairBreak Invitational Tournament

Nepal national women’s team captain Rubina Chhetri scored her first run in FairBreak Invitational Tournament on Wednesday. Getting the chance to bat for the first time in the tournament, Rubina grabbed the opportunity with both hands against Sapphires’ Women.

Coming into the crease while her team Barmy Army were 110 for six in the 13th over, Rubina scored an unbeaten 32 runs from 25 balls to help her side post 168 after the 20 overs. Rubina was struggling to score, with just  12 coming from 17 balls till the 18th over.

Then she played eight balls of the last two overs and smacked 20 runs smacking a couple of sixes. Her 32 was also the second-highest of the inning, only behind Laura Wolvaardt’s 49.

In the last match, Rubina pocketed her first-ever wicket against Warriors women.

Barmy Army posted 168/8 after being invited to bat first in the last group stage match. Barmy Army has already booked a spot in the semi-final.
