Sita Rana Magar and Indu Barma hit half-centuries as Armed Police Force Women’s cricket team posted 154 runs in the final of the Lalitpur Mayor Women’s Championship against Koshi Province on Thursday.

Invited to bat first, APF women lost their opener Jyoti Pandey for two runs. Pandey was trapped leg before after playing 12 balls without a boundary. APF managed 30 runs in the powerplay.

Opener Sita Rana Magar continued her sublime form in the final with a blistering knock of 79 runs from 68 balls, including nine fours and two biggies. Earlier, She reached her second fifty in the tournament in just 47 balls and hit a hat-trick of boundaries against her opposite number.

Sita also contributed to the unbeaten hundred (136) runs partnership with Indu Barma for the second wicket.

Meanwhile, Indu Barma also hit a half-century, which was overshadowed by her partner. She reached the landmark in just 39 balls. Barma finished the innings on 51 runs not out from 41 balls with five boundaries and a six.

Rubina Chettri’s Koshi team could only take one wicket in the entire innings and gave away 22 extras.

Sita Rana finished the tournament on a great high, becoming the top run scorer and top wicket-taker. She managed 214 runs in five innings with an average of 107.00 and grabbed eight wickets with an average of 7.75.
