Sompal five-for restricts Kurunegala XI For 347

Kathmandu – Sompal Kami made his first class debut a memorable one as his five wicket haul helped Nepal restrict Kurunegala XI for 347 runs on the 1st day of Nepal’s first three day match in Sri Lanka.

Kurunegala XI batted beautifully on a fresh pitch after Nepal invited them to bat first. Minod Banuka blasted a century for them. He scored 113 runs from 133 balls. He blasted nine fours and four sixes in his inning. He was also involved in a 114 runs partnership for the fourth wicket with Gayan Maneeshan who scored 60 runs off 95 balls.

Nepal, however, made a good comeback later in the day by picking last five wickets conceding just 58 runs, out of which Sompal took four wickets.

Bhuvan Karki and Sagar Pun shared 2 wickets each for Nepal. They will starts batting form the very first session tomorrow. Another debutant fast bowler Karan KC managed a wicket.
