We will do whatever it takes to the trophy again: Paras Khadka

Kathmandu – Nepal Cricket Team Captain Paras Khadka spoke to International Cricket Council’s(ICC) website ahead of the ICC World Cricket League Division 3. Speaking to ICC, he said, “we are hungry to do well in the tournament and we will do whatever it takes again to lift the trophy again.”

“It has been an amazing year and we want to finish on a high note by winning the ICC WCL Div. three title. We played our first global event and got T20I status, and this has given the team a tremendous confidence and belief that we can do well.” the Captain further stated.

This tournament decides the future of Nepali Cricket for another 3-4 years. Nepal did well in the ICC World Cup T20 2014, impressing the whole world. Though, they haven’t had the success they were supposed to make in 50 over cricket.

Khadka also expressed his team’s desire to play the intercontinental cup. “We want to get into the ICC Intercontinental Cup. It’s a gradual step-by-step process and it starts from WCL Div. 3. We believe we have the talent to reach there and perform. The stakes are high and we want to do whatever it takes for us to be in that league.”

“Every time you go out there to play for your country, every match is important. I would do anything to help the country climb up the cricket ladder. It’s a very important six-month period we have to make our mark at international level.” he said.

Nepal are the defending champions and they will play their first match of the tournament against Uganda on Thursday.
