Nepal Tour of Sri Lanka

Kathmandu – Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced the dates of Nepal’s tour of Sri-Lanka starting from November 7th-29th.

According to CAN, Nepal will play two three-day matches and a two-day match during its Sri Lanka tour. “Nepal will play matches against Sri Lanka ‘A’ team, a district-level team and a club,” said Uttam Karmacharya, acting general secretary of CAN. “This tour will help Nepal to prepare for the ACC championship” he further added.

Nepal’s tour became possible after Sri-Lanka Cricket Executive Committee (SLC) on September 1st decided to host the tour matches of non-test playing nations of Asia including Nepal to advance the level of cricket in this region.

Nepal will play ACC Championship December 7 to 14, a two day format tournament – where top four teams (Afghanistan, Nepal, Malaysia and Oman) of ACC Premier League held in May in Malaysia will compete.

Meanwhile, Asian Cricket Council has taken all the initiation and arrangements of funds for this tour.

“The SLC’s initiative would be fruitful for Nepal and we believe that Nepal would get chances to play against the best teams during the Sri Lanka tour.” said Pubudu Dassanayake, the head coach of Nepali Cricket Team.
