Nepal’s spinning sensation Sandeep Lamichhane is gearing up for a comeback in domestic cricket. Lamichhane who is the first player from Nepal to play in the Indian Premier League and numerous international franchise Leagues used to miss the domestic leagues due to his engagements in global leagues.
However, the star spinner is now set to rejoin the domestic scene, adding excitement to the local cricketing landscape. Lamichhane has been included in Bagmati Province’s training camp for the KP Oli T20 Cricket Tournament. Players like Pratish GC, Surya Tamang, Ishan Pandey, Rit Gautam, and Tilak Bhandari are also in the 27-man called for the camp.
Sandeep last played domestic cricket in the Everest Premier League in September/October 2021 where he captained Kathmandu Kings XI. In March 2021, he also led the Kathmandu Mayor’s XI in the Kathmandu Mayor’s Cup.
The KP Oli T20 Cricket Tournament, scheduled to take place from November 22 to December 2 in Pokhara, is being organized by the Madan Bhandari Sports Academy. The tournament will feature seven provinces, three departmental teams, and the organizers, Madan Bhandari Sports Academy, competing for a winning prize of NPR Five Lakhs and a runner-up prize of NPR Two Lakhs Fifty Thousand.
