BPKIHS and IOM reach final

B.P Koirala Institue of Health Sciences(BPKIHS) and Institute of Medicine(IOM) reached the final of 2nd KIST Cup Inter Medical College Cricket Tournament after winning their semi final matches today at Army School Cricket Ground, Sallaghari Bhaktapur. The final match of the tournament will be played tomorrow in the same venue.

BPKIHS defeated host KIST Medical College “Yellow” Team by 10 wickets in their semi final match. Wining the toss and batting first KIST managed 108 runs in their 20 overs. Ashish Singh top scored for KIST team with 43 runs from 41 balls. Spinner Subhash Chandra bagged 3 wickets for the side from Dharan.

Chasing 109 BPKIHS got to the target in mere 11.4 overs thanks 28 ball half century from Subash Chandra. Subash made 58 runs from 32 runs to add the first century partnership of the tournament with Raj Kumar Shah who made 39 runs from 38 balls. Subhash Chandra was declared man of the match for his all round performance.

In the other semi final played today IOM defeated Universal College of Medical Sciences by 7 wickets. Winning the toss and batting first UCMS made 109 runs from 20 overs thanks to 28 runs off 30 balls from Raju Ryauniyar. Gajendra Chaudhary, who was later adjudged the player of the match bagged 4 wickets from his four overs giving away just 11 runs. Sagar Khadka top scored for IOM with 44 from 43 balls as they chased the target in 16.3 overs.
