CA Chairman to attend Hughes’ Tribute Match

Kathmandu – Wally Edwards, the chairman of Cricket Australia (CA) is all set to attend the “Phillip Hughes Tribute Match” to be held at Tribhuvan University Stadium, Kathmandu on April 11.

Ryan Carters, the Sydney thunder and New South Wales (NSW) player has also confirmed his participation in the 63 overs match honouring the Australia Batsman who died tragically on 63 not out while playing a domestic match for NSW against South Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground in November 2014.

The match will be played 31.3 overs per side combining Nepali national side and the visiting Australian cricketers.

Similarly, Former Australian U-19 Captain and current ICC Head of Global Development – Tim Anderson will also attend the match.

“The Tribute Match will be followed by an expedition whereby one of Hughes’ bats and playing jerseys will be taken to Mt Everest”, stated the press release by CAN.

The announcement of further Australian players will take place shortly.
